Fighter of the Week

 2/14/11-

Fighter of the week absolutely has to go to Fedor Emilianenko.  Even though he lost his bought with Bigfoot Silva, he was, is, and always will be the Baddest Man on the Planet.

This week ( 8/27/10) with out a doubt has to go to Randy Couture.  The last standing soldier from UFC's days of inception.  Antagonists constantly bring up Randy's age and...nothing else.  The only thing that anyone can say is "Randy is old".  Well, I say "Randy is still kicking ass".  While there is no doubt that most can't do what Couture has done (at his age), Randy is not only dangerous; he's competitive.

While tomorrow could be the day that Father Time catches up with him, Randy has given us no reason to use his age as a reason to doubt him.  There is no reason to think that he could not legitimately contend for a 6th UFC title (after all, this would be his third straight win. We've seen crazier things).

Regardless of my article "The Big 3, Part 2: Couture vs Toney", where I pit Couture as a potential fall guy for the UFC, Randy is the representative of MMA's integrity. I have no doubt in him.  War, Randy.  And thank you.
